Introduction of Colored Glaze
Colored glaze or "Liu-li" in Chinese is a type of multi-hued crystal glass which application dates back to China`s Tang Dynasty (618 to 907) more than a thousand of years ago. Liu-li art wares were restricted to royalties back then, and were believed to bring good luck, fortune and health.
During the Tang Dynasty, the Chinese nation prospered and its architecture flourished. A form of glazed pottery known as the "Tang tri-colored glazed pottery" had already earned great fame in the region. A potter succeeded in experimenting with the pottery by adding an ancient eaves tile material used in construction and this produced the signature translucency that is associated with the world-famous Liu-li today. The term "Liu-li" was first found in the Buddhist Sutra. In the religious scripture, the "Light of Liu-li" signifies the elimination of greed and desire, illumination of the spirit of Buddhism and the spreading of the glory of Buddha far and wide.
The material used in Liu-li is actually adopted from the raw material used to produce precious crystal glass in the West. Crystal glass is made from a combination of glass and lead dioxide. While the proportion for mixing glass and lead dioxide varies from country to country, generally speaking, when the percentage of lead dioxide reaches 24% and above, the translucency and refractive quality of the glass reaches an excellent level. At the same time, the crystal glass is also heavier, softer and in prime condition for crafting into fine works of art. Liu-li is comparable to European and American crystal glass products well-known for their high quality and is thus superior in price and quality to ordinary glass products.
Maintenance of Pearl Jewelry
1. Do not use commercial jewelry cleaners on pearls unless the labels say they are safe for pearl jewelry. Many of them contain ammonia, which will cause deterioration.
2. Never clean pearls in an ultrasonic cleaner. It can damage the pearls and wash out the color if the pearls have been dyed.
3. Never steam-clean pearls. Heat can harm them.
4. Never use detergents, bleaches, powdered cleansers, baking soda or ammonia-based cleaners on pearls.
5. Do not use toothbrushes, scouring pads or abrasive materials to clean pearls. They can scratch their surface. If there`s a lump of dirt that can`t be rubbed off with a soft cloth, try using your fingernails. They have a hardness of only 2 1/2 or less.
6. Cleaning pearls is not complicated. After you wear them, just wipe them off with a soft cloth or chamois which can be dry or damp. This will prevent the dirt from accumulating and keep perspiration, which is slightly acidic, from eating away at the pearl nacre.
7. The pearls can be washed in water and a mild soap such as Ivory or Lux liquid (some liquid soaps, such as Dawn, can damage pearls) and cleaned with a soft cloth but not a brush. Pay attention to the areas around the drill holes where dirt may tend to collect. After washing them, lay the pearls flat in a moist kitchen towel to dry. After the towel is dry, they should be dry. Do not wear pearls when their string is wet. Wet strings stretch and attract dirt which is hard to remove. Likewise do not hang pearls to dry.

This ring is just the right size for me; it's not too big as most pearl rings appear. I love the beauty! It was a great value also!

This ring is beautiful. I got one to fit on my middle finger and it is very comfortable. The ring is solidly made, very unique and has several different colors. I was afraid it would look too big on my hand, since they are small, but its perfect.
